Known as the birthplace of the Taliban, Kandahar is tentatively opening its doors to the world again.
In December 2020, American travel blogger Drew Binsky went to Afghanistan. He spent two weeks travelling the length and breadth of the country, including an eventful few days in the southern city of Kandahar.
In this incredible video, Drew meets the friendly Kandahar locals, takes in the sights and tucks into tasty Afghan food.
‘I was nervous as hell to visit the city’, he explains. ‘But it didn’t take me long to realise there’s another side to the Kandahar story.
Frankly speaking, it’s beautiful.’
Kandahar has definitely gone to the top of our post-COVID bucket list.
